Steve has been professionally involved in the dive industry for over twenty-five years. During this time he has held many positions including Standards Officer for the Federation of Australian Underwater Instructors (FAUI), President of the Australian Scuba Council, Secretary of the Dive Industry and Travel Association, Project Officer for Underwater Victoria and currently serves on two Standards Australia committees. He was the Australian Scuba Champion in 1981 and in 1988 was awarded the prestigious Stan Bugg Award for his services to FAUI and in 1989 the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) presented him with an award to acknowledge his contribution to safe diving standards. During his instructing career he has been a PADI instructor and an instructor trainer for FAUI, SSI, NASDS and AUSI. Steve is the former owner of one of Melbourne’s leading dive stores, In Depth Scuba Education and still owns and manages the Queenscliff Dive Centre. He is the co-author of International Scuba Diver and numerous other manuals.

Russell has been scuba diving for over twenty years and has been professionally involved in the dive industry for more than six years as a scuba instructor. He has also been involved in professional education for over twenty years and during this time has been involved with designing educational materials and supporting texts including authoring numerous educational books and publications. His expertise concentrates around practical education to achieve competency, with an emphasis on supporting those wishing to learn through their journey.
